WHITEFISH BAY- Wisconsin is playing a big role in the Republican National Convention (RNC) next week, and in the presidential election in November. Many of the Wisconsin delegates headed for the RNC told TODAY'S TMJ4 there is an undeniable level of pride and confidence in the party with a ticket they believe will help them beat the Democrats in November.Wisconsin delegate Sol Grosskopf is packed and ready to go."I'm proud to be a Wisconsinite and I'm proud Wisconsin is developing the future leaders for this nation," said Grosskopf to TODAY'S TMJ4.The Republican told TODAY'S TMJ4 the level of excitement is unlike anything he's ever seen as they officially nominate the party's candidates for president and vice president."This election is seen as winnable and that we can take the incumbent on and win to move this nation in the right direction."Grosskopf said the boost comes from the state capturing national political headlines over the last couple of years. It also doesn't hurt that Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan is part of the GOP ticket."This is going to be a little bit different in the sense of the importance of this election, we see America heading down the wrong path under Barack Obama and were looking to change that," explained Grosskopf.A surge of support Republicans say will only grow during and after the convention next week."The delegation from Wisconsin is engaged and excited about helping bringing our 10 electoral votes to Romney-Ryan ticket," said Nathan Conrad of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. "We have a definite momentum switch for our side of the aisle that is picking up nationwide."The convention will begin on Monday in Tampa, and is scheduled to last for four days.
